Health Insurance and Other Fringe Benefits

Health insurance helps your employees protect against catastrophic and other illnesses.Aloha Employee Leasing spends a great deal of resources in finding cost-effective, comprehensive medical plans that qualify under the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act. The plans offered are typically PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), POS (Point-of-Service) or a combination of the three.By pooling its employees in one group, Aloha Employee Leasing is able to spread its medical claims over a larger premium base, resulting in much lower premium costs for its clients.Clients have the added flexibility and choice of HMSA, Kaiser, UHA, or HMAA for Covered Employees with Aloha.

The Federal Affordable Care Act has impacted many states with mandated coverages. However, employers are still subject to the Hawaii Prepaid Health Care Act and must continue to provide mandatory coverages to its employees. Aloha will update its clients on this new law and how it will impact its clients.

Affordable medical insurance is only one of many benefits Aloha Employee Leasing offers. Many other benefits are available to its clients. Aloha will ensure that employee benefits important to the company are included in quoted fees.

Other benefits available include:

  • Temporary Disability Insurance
  • Dental Plan
  • Drug Plan
  • Vision Plan
  • Employee Assistance Programs
  • Optional Medical Reimbursement Plan

Workers Compensation

An extremely valuable service to the business client is the risk management provided by Aloha Employee Leasing in the areas of workers compensation insurance. Aloha also aggressively manages claims and sometimes hires private investigators to combat fraudulent claims.

Workers compensation and unemployment claims are charged against Aloha Employee Leasing's experience rating and could result in increased costs for its clients. Working to hold down costs together with the client company as a common goal is one of the greatest strengths of Aloha.

For example, a construction company with 10 employees incurs a $200,000 workers compensation claim by an injured worker. The owner does not have the resources to manage this claim and it goes against the company's experience rating. This claim significantly raises the workers compensation rates to a point that it could literally drive this company out of business because of its inability to quote competitive bids on its labor costs. Aloha manages these claims to find a quick resolution, including a return to work policy, resulting in a much lower claim cost.

Safety and Risk Management

One of the least promoted yet extremely valuable services to the client is the risk management provided by Aloha in the area of worksite safety. Aloha Employee Leasing will create a customized safety manual for employees. Our Director of Safety and Risk Management will conduct an initial safety assessment and periodic safety meetings. He visits job sites and work premises to assess and evaluate potential hazards, compile MSDS sheets as required and complete OSHA logs.
